Paprika
The actual origin of the different types of paprika lies in different regions such as Mexico or South America, the Andes and also in the Amazon region. Peppers contain large amounts of potassium, magnesium, zinc and calcium and are also rich in vitamins - in addition to vitamins A and B, red peppers also have a very high vitamin C content compared to peppers of other colors. Paprika also contains antioxidants such as flavonoids and cartinoids. Flavonoids protect against cardiovascular diseases, for example. Chillies and hot peppers belong to the same family as peppers - but the capsaicin content is much higher here. Watch out for the heat!
Our fresh peppers in red, green and yellow - other colors on request - come from the Netherlands from around mid-April to the end of September and from Spain in the autumn and winter months. Peppers are grown in greenhouses or foil houses. As a rule, we process peppers of the beautiful-sounding "California Wonder" variety. This variety is nice and round, so we can use it to make bell pepper segments, halved peppers or bell pepper quarters. Of course, there are also smaller cuts such as diced peppers. Tell us what you need and we will find a solution together.
