Düpmann Vegetable Processing – Responsibility
Our contribution to the environment
Jane Goodall once said, “Every day, we can decide anew what kind of impact we want to have on this world!” We have decided to take environmental protection and resource efficiency into account in as many aspects as possible—in all new construction and renovation projects, in production, and in our technical operations—and to implement these measures step by step.
As early as the 2009 renovations in Marienfeld, we opted for heat recovery from the refrigeration and compressor systems; a photovoltaic system is installed on the roof. These factors were also key criteria for the new building in Borgholzhausen.
Since the mid-1990s, we have made the use of reusable containers a priority. Our fleet is continuously being modernized to meet the latest technical standards. Our most advanced trucks already comply with the strict Euro 6e standard, and we plan to gradually replace older vehicles. Our truck drivers are actively involved in adopting a resource-efficient driving style.
Our in-house mechanical engineering department takes into account the potential reuse of individual components in a modular design right from the development stage.
In our production process, we ensure a high level of raw material utilization: Suitable vegetable trimmings are specifically reused in other cut patterns. Any surplus produce that is still suitable for consumption is donated to food banks or given to our employees.
When it comes to preventing and recycling waste, we consistently follow the principles of the circular economy throughout the entire process: reduce – recycle – remanufacture – reuse
